What is Freed To Lead?

Freed To Lead PLLC is a mission-driven company for leaders looking to find or act in their authentic purpose. We provide coaching, facilitation, and design to help you and your teams overcome challenges, dismantle self-doubt, and lead with unwavering clarity.

Ultimately, we partner with you to transform not just your systems, but your leadership, so you can make a genuine impact.

Where does the name "Freed To Lead" come from?

Naming a company is a long and challenging process. After many late nights and brainstorming sessions, I found that the names that resonated with me most had already been taken.

The one Bible verse that kept getting my attention through this process was 2 Timothy 1:7, which says, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and a sound mind.” This is a radical transformation from fear that keeps you bound to a freedom to be as you were made to be. This is Freed To Lead.

What does your faith have to do with leadership development?

My faith in Jesus is the foundation of who I am, and it guides the values I bring to my work. That said, I am committed to supporting you regardless of your personal beliefs. Your faith, however expressed, doesn't change the quality of my support or the direction we take. I'm here to partner with you on your journey to find clarity and purpose in the people and causes that matter to you.

If you share my faith, it can certainly be an added layer to our work together if and when you choose. Ultimately, what I'm offering is a clear, purpose-driven path forward, and I'll only share my own experiences when it is helpful to you.

How is Freed To Lead different from other leadership consulting firms?

While many firms focus on improving what's already there, Freed To Lead is dedicated to helping you achieve meaningful growth and transformation toward what's truly possible.

We believe the real magic happens in the relationships. While others might give you the technical "What" to do, we partner with you on the relational "How" to get there. This approach builds your own capacity and confidence, so you are empowered to lead long after our work together is complete.

Who do you work with?

Freed To Lead works with a wide range of people, from individuals to entire organizations through coaching, facilitation, and design.

Individuals: We partner with leaders on boards, in C-Suites, in the cubicle, on the job search, and everywhere in between.

Teams: We work with teams that are just starting out, groups navigating significant changes, or those focused on strategic planning, or working out their internal dynamics.

Organizations: We support organizations that need to level-set their language, align their ideas, and get all staff on the same page.

Our approach is general enough to have broad application, and specific enough to meet you where you are. If you’re looking for transformation, feel free to reach out, and let’s talk about what you’re seeing as a need.

How does the process with Freed To Lead work?

Our process is rooted in a fundamental belief: true change begins internally. While many organizations are tempted to focus on changing their clients or audience, we begin the work by looking within—at your team and your systems.

Our journey is a three-step process. First, we create the conditions for people to see themselves and each other more clearly. From there, we work together to make sense of your current situation, gaining a shared understanding of the challenges. Finally, we design a clear way forward that is rooted in your values and purpose.

All of these steps are designed to build your team’s capacity and confidence. We provide you with the mindsets, tools, and practices you need to continue the work long after our engagement is complete.

What are Freed To Lead's frameworks?

My approach is built on a few core frameworks and beliefs. Every engagement is guided by:

Shared Humanity: We are grounded in the belief that every person has inherent dignity and worth. We begin our work by honoring our shared humanity.

Complexity Science: We use a lens of complexity science to help you see the bigger picture—understanding the intricate relationships and patterns within your system that are driving your challenges.

Liberatory Design: To move through that complexity, we use Liberatory Design. This is a collaborative, creative problem-solving approach that helps us design solutions rooted in human thriving, creating community, and meaningfully meeting needs.

By bringing these ideas together, we create a powerful and transformative path forward.

How long does the coaching or consulting process last?

The duration of our work together is flexible and completely depends on your goals.

Short-term engagements are perfect for a single, contained goal and may consist of a series of coaching sessions or a facilitated learning workshop.

Mid-term partnerships might involve a listening campaign to understand a current situation, followed by a report and debrief conversation.

Long-term collaborations can last for a few years, building a sustained partnership for deep organizational transformation.

Of course, the Freed To Lead process is transparent and open so that we co-design a series of moves that fit your time, budget, and ability to practice what we’re learning.

Do you work in person or remotely?

Freed To Lead is willing to serve you in the ways that make sense for our engagement together, whether virtual or in-person.

Session Minimums:
Coaching & Listening: A minimum of one hour per session.
Learning & Design: A minimum of two hours per session.

Delivery Times:
Virtual: A half-day is 3 hours, and anything past 4 hours is considered a full day.
In-Person: A half-day is 4 hours, and a full day is up to 8 hours.

Additional Details:
Travel and lodging expenses are added to in-person events.

Planning time is also part of our engagement and is customized to each project. This includes meetings before and after sessions, and any work I do on your behalf.

What is the difference between coaching and facilitation?

While there are many views on this, I see coaching and facilitation as two sides of the same coin. In my work, they are interlaced. Whether I'm coaching or facilitating, I'm always modeling the skills, mindsets, and stances necessary for navigating complexity—the type of leadership that aligns with who I am and how I see the world.

Because I embody these skills and mindsets, whether I’m standing and speaking in front of a large group, or codesigning with a small group, I’m constantly doing both.

Ultimately, what it’s called matters less than a few key questions: Is it helpful? Does it move you closer to where you aspire to be? Do you feel confident in leading through your version of what I’m modeling?

How much do your services cost?

Since my work is completely customized to your specific needs, the pricing for a given engagement varies.

The cost is based on a few key factors:

The number of people involved (individuals, teams, or entire organizations)

The type of service (coaching, facilitation, strategic design)

The scope and duration of our work together

The best way to get a clear and accurate estimate is to have a conversation. I offer an initial consultation to discuss your specific goals and design a plan that fits your vision, time, and budget.

Feel free to reach out to schedule a time to connect. I'm committed to transparency and will provide a clear proposal after our initial conversation.

How do I know if this is the right investment for me or my organization?

It’s natural to feel uncertain about the cost and results of hiring a consultant—it can feel like a significant risk.

I accept work only if I truly believe there is a high chance of a successful outcome for you, one that is worth the value of our engagement. I don’t say “yes” to everything that comes my way for two key reasons: I want to take on work that aligns with who I want to be in the world and what I am uniquely positioned to do; and I genuinely care about the people I work with, so I’m not looking to get rich from low-quality work.

Ultimately, the best way for you to know is to schedule some time to connect. Reach out, and let’s have a conversation about your needs and what we might get up to together.
